I use Gather as a place to share my opinions with those who may want to hear them. Having put them somewhere that curious people may find, it's easier for me to spare uninterested people the burden of having to hear them. I would like more people to do the same, especially those presumptuous enough to assume that other people should hear their opinions, because I have often found such people boring and annoying.
I'm actually arrogant enough to believe that I have occasional insights that some people may find useful, and I hope that those who would find my advice useful will find my advice.
David, I read your article on Borderline Personality Disorder. It intrigued me as I think a family member does have it (or some other personality disorder) Most of the symptoms fit, the mood swings, controlling behavior and vindictiveness when disagreed with. Her husband seems to not be ready to accept "an emotional illness". This "can" be a really nice person, any clues for getting help for her? (she has children)
